KOTD - Color Club Wild at Heart

Hey!

I recently ordered 2 of my biggest lemmings - Color Club's Wild at Heart and Revvvolution. I realise how far behind I am on these but I always been a 'I'll do it in my own time' type of girl :)

So, even though I know you've probably all seen Wild at Heart a million times already I couldn't not show you the konadicure I did over it!

I used Color Club's Wild at Heart as the base and China Glaze's IDK for the stamping with image plate M35 -

Make sure you click on these pictures for full holo effect!

Ignore my shortie index nail! It broke and I haven't evened them all up yet.

The first 6 pictures are in full sunlight (yes, we do get it occasionally here) but the last one is taken indoors to show the konading a bit more clearly.

I love it! I'm so glad I finally got Wild at Heart.

Lastly, for those of you who haven't already seen this on twitter, my pillow last night was a bit lumpy and uncomfortable...

FAQs And Some New Things!

Hi!

This is a post I've been meaning to do for ages. I get asked a lot of questions but there are a few that come up a lot so I thought I'd do a post on them.

First off, and I'm not sure why people are fascinated about this, but a lot of people ask to see my 'bare' nails so here they are sans polish!

You have to ignore the slight yellow staining. Trust me, they used to be FAR worse! They're longer than I usually have them at the moment, I just haven't got round to chopping them. My cuticles aren't at their best here either :)

The 2nd question I get asked a lot - What base and top coat do you use?

I have tried quite a few base and top coats. In my opinion though, nothing beats Nails Inc Kensington Caviar base coat and top coat -

For me, it's the best by a long mile. I don't know how I coped without the top coat especially! It dries in 45 seconds and gives a really good shine. The only thing I can't use it for is over konads as it smudges them but I still put a coat of it over the konad special top coat.
The only downside for me is that it's quite expensive but I think it's well worth it and I can usually find it on ebay for a bit less than usual.

3rd question - Do you use any other products on your nails to keep them strong?

I am very lucky with my nails. They are naturally very strong. Usually I only break one if I really whack it on something. I wish I had some amazing tip but I don't!

The one thing I do do regularly is use cuticle remover, buff and shape -

I use Nails Inc Striptease cuticle remover. For me it works well but it's all I've ever used so I have nothing to compare it to.
About once every couple of weeks I use the cuticle remover, then I use the nail buffer (top) to smooth and shine and then I shape (or should I say attempt to) using the glass nail file. That's all I do nail care wise.

4th question - how do you clean up any excess polish on your nails?

I forgot to take a picture for this one! It would only have been a picture of a boring brush though :)
I usually put nail polish on at night, go to sleep and then in my shower or bath the next morning I peel off any excess polish and tidy the nails up. If I can't do that though then I just use a firm bristled brush soaked in nail polish remover and wipe that round the edges of my nails.

Those are the questions I get asked the most. I do always answer any emails so feel free to ask me anything else you want to know!

One other question I've been asked a couple of times recently is why I never do any haul posts... well to be honest, I don't actually buy that much nail polish! I buy the occasional bottle that I really want and I'm very lucky in the fact that Maz and some friends occasionally buy me a bottle. I'm trying to be sensible spending wise at the moment but here are a few things I've bought or been given recently -

(L-R) Bourjois Bleu Violet, No7 Spun Sugar, Miss Sporty x2 (no names)

(L-R) Rimmel Green With Envy and Desire, Bloom Isla

OPI's Absolutely Alice and China Glaze's C-C-Courage

Lastly, here are a couple of things I've won recently -

The 8 new konad plates! Thanks to Beauty Judy and wowsocool.com

A Nutriganics gift pack from The Body Shop. I won this through twitter. I haven't used it enough to give my opinion on it yet though :)

That's it for today. My nails are NAKED at the moment so no manicure to show you. I may do them later if I can resist cutting them...

China Glaze's Sexy In The City

Hi!

I've been slacking again ;) Don't I sound like a broken record?! I don't have any excuse, I just haven't changed my polish much in the past week or so!

So I did my nails yesterday using China Glaze's Sexy In The City. It's one of my favourite colours at the moment although I'm not totally convinced it suits my skin tone!

Here are the pics -

This was 3 coats and a topcoat. It's a bit darker in real life but I couldn't quite capture it right.

I wonder how long it will survive without being konaded?!

I also had the same colour on last week but as a french manicure -

and I always get lots of help from Barnaby when doing my nails -

My nails are pretty long now (for me) and I'm feeling the urge to cut them again... I just can't seem to shape them so that I'm happy with them.

I'm also thinking of going back to my old comment system. Intense Debate is great for replying but it seems to take a while to load and sometimes crashes my browser...

Lastly, I'm updating my blog roll so if you're not on it and want to be then please let me know! I try to follow everyone but I sometimes miss a few.

Have a good weekend everyone!

Contest Entry

This is a VERY quick post to show you my entry to the China Glaze and Seche Vite contest!

You can vote for your favourite here. I'm not asking you to vote for me, vote for whichever one you like best!! Not even I have voted for my own :)

Here's my entry -

The contest was to do a manicure using only China Glaze and Seche Vite products. I have to admit I very nearly didn't enter because without konad I am truly bad at nail art but in the end I thought 'give it a go'!

I used China Glaze's Coconut Kiss for the base and the circles were done using a brush protector and CG's Emerald Sparkle, Ruby Pumps 2Nite and Sexy in the City. There's also a bit of Fairy Dust on there too! Top coat was of course Seche Vite :)

So get voting people! There are some really fabulous entries so good luck deciding who to vote for!!

OPI's Purple With A Purpose Konadicure

Hey!

Sorry I've been a bit quiet on the blogging front recently. I have been feeling a bit disheartened with the whole thing due to various reasons so decided to take a bit of a step back. Not much of a step back though as I can't resist showing you my latest konadicure :)

I used OPI's Purple With A Purpose as a base and China Glaze's Devotion with image plate M64 for the konad.

Purple With A Purpose is a gorgeous purple. It doesn't show in any of these pictures but there is a hint of red running through the purple.
This image from M64 is definitely one of my favourites even though it still reminds me of wallpaper!

This weekend I am going away again. My friend from Australia is back for a couple of weeks so I'm going to see her! I can't wait. This time though, there will  be a lot less shots consumed!!!

Oh and for those of you who asked, Valentine's Day was great! Maz spoilt me loads. We went out for a lovely meal and he bought me lots of pressies :) The roses he got me are still going strong despite several attempts from Bobo and Barnaby to eat them.

Hope everyone had a good weekend!

Valentine's Nails - C2000 Vixen

Hey,

It's the weekend! Yay! Not only is it the weekend, it's Valentine's weekend! I know lots of people are very anti Valentine's Day but I can't help it, I love it!

I have done my nails for the occasion but they're not at all what I had planned. I was going to do a konadicure but I just haven't had the time so they are just very basic and simple!

I used Collection 2000's Vixen (very appropriate name I felt!) topped with a coat of China Glaze's Fairy Dust and then a coat of Sally Hansen's Strobe Light.

I have to say that it was IMPOSSIBLE to capture the true colour of this polish. I got very frustrated trying because it's such a gorgeous bright fuschia. It looks far more red in some of the pictures than it actually is.

The last picture shows the true colour as best I could get it!

So, I love it, even if it is a bit uninspired :)

I don't know what I'm doing tomorrow, it's all a surprise but I'm very excited!

I hope everyone has a good weekend and for those celebrating it - a fab Valentine's Day!

OPI DS Extravagance Konadicure

Hey,

Just a quickie today!

Not my favourite konad I've ever done but I do love OPI's DS Extravagance!

I used 2 coats of OPI's DS Extravagance for the base and China Glaze's Devotion for the Konad with image plate M25.

DS Extravagance is such a gorgeous colour! I've worn it before but never taken pictures for some reason... sometimes I forget!

I've added a new widget in the left hand side bar for formspring.me so if you have any questions, ask away! I'll answer most things :)

Chi Chi Moondust Konadicure!

Hello!

How is everyone? Good I hope!

I have been feeling a little strange for the past couple of weeks. When I say strange I don't really know how to explain it...just kind of uneasy I guess. Uneasy but unsure exactly what I'm uneasy about?! Does anyone else ever feel like that? Well anyway, I'm feeling better now so my blog post rate should go up a bit :)

I have a konadicure to show you today. I am very happy with how it turned out and I think it might just be my favourite one yet.....

I used Chi Chi's Moondust, which I got as part of my fab Christmas present from my friend who currently lives in Australia (I say currently because I'm hoping she's coming back one day!), as the base along with China Glaze's Devotion, which I got in my swap with Beauty Judy, as the stamp using image plate M35.

Be sure to click on these pictures to see the full loveliness of Moondust!

Moondust is SUCH a gorgeous colour. I absolutely love it, it is much more purple in person that it appears in these pictures. It is definitely a contender for favourite polish ever!
Devotion is a perfect polish for konading with. I didn't have any issues with it and now want some more similar China Glaze colours!

As you can see, my nails are quite short at the moment. When I first cut them down so short I almost cried because I thought they looked so bad but it was worth it to finally be rid of all the yellow! Plus they've grown on me now (no pun intended!) and I quite like them short :)

I have a post coming up soon of answers to some questions I've been asked a lot recently. If anyone has any more questions then ask away now and I'll answer them in the post!

Lastly, for those of you who haven't entered yet, don't forget to enter my giveaway here.
