A Franken NOTD

Hi,

Earlier in the week I realised that my bottle of Cover Girl's City Lights was running very low and it was beginning to be difficult to use so I decided to use the rest of it for a franken. I mixed it with some of Nubar's Night Sparkles.

Here's how it turned out -

The first few shots show the true colour of the franken but the darker shots show the sparkliness! It looks best in the sun but of course there was no sun when I was taking pictures!

I love the result and will be wearing it a lot!

I went to Superdrug's yesterday and Gosh is 3 for 2 at the moment so I got some more sparkly things -

Gosh's extreme eyeliner number 26 and holographic silver eyedust. I also got the holographic nail polish but didn't take a photo of it for some reason.

Don't forget all these pictures are clickable and you can definitely see the full sparkle effect more in the big pictures!

Lastly, look what Tescos are selling now -

Color Club Love 'Em Leave 'Em Konadicure

Hey!

This is a very quick post to show you what's currently on my nails -

Click on the pictures to see the full holographic effect!

I used 2 coats of Color Club's Love 'Em Leave 'Em with Konad black polish and image plate M65.

I don't usually buy colours like this but I surprised myself by absolutely loving it! So I will be buying more like this in the future :)

Oh and just because it's been a while, here are some Bobo and Barnaby pics -

Both sleeping in the airing cupboard on the nice clean towels.

Sometimes I worry that he can't relax... ;)

My beautiful girl!

China Glaze's Sexy In The City

Hi!

I've been slacking again ;) Don't I sound like a broken record?! I don't have any excuse, I just haven't changed my polish much in the past week or so!

So I did my nails yesterday using China Glaze's Sexy In The City. It's one of my favourite colours at the moment although I'm not totally convinced it suits my skin tone!

Here are the pics -

This was 3 coats and a topcoat. It's a bit darker in real life but I couldn't quite capture it right.

I wonder how long it will survive without being konaded?!

I also had the same colour on last week but as a french manicure -

and I always get lots of help from Barnaby when doing my nails -

My nails are pretty long now (for me) and I'm feeling the urge to cut them again... I just can't seem to shape them so that I'm happy with them.

I'm also thinking of going back to my old comment system. Intense Debate is great for replying but it seems to take a while to load and sometimes crashes my browser...

Lastly, I'm updating my blog roll so if you're not on it and want to be then please let me know! I try to follow everyone but I sometimes miss a few.

Have a good weekend everyone!

Konadicure and 3 Things About Me

Hey!

I thought I'd show you the konadicure I did for my weekend away last week. I didn't take many pictures of it though so the photos aren't the best!

I used Sinful Color's Secret Admirer as a base with China Glaze's Devotion for the stamp using image plate M64 (yes, it's a favourite!). This was a winner judging by the number of comments I got about it :)

Also, I saw a post on Niki's blog that I just can't resist doing as well. You all know I'm a sucker for these things!

Giveaway Winner and some cat pictures!

Hey!

I've just picked a winner for my giveaway that I did here.

Before I tell you who's won, here are some pictures of me picking the name -

Maz is away this weekend so I had to draft in some different invigilators :)

Barnaby checking I hadn't missed anyone out.

Bobo overseeing me folding the names into a box.

Both getting distracted briefly.... big wrestling match ensued!

Barnaby double checking that they're all there.

Bobo getting a bit bored of the whole thing.

Distracted again.... 2nd wrestling match ensues....

Ok, they're back to being sensible and ready to find out who has won!

.....and the winner is......

Yay!

Now they can relax and get back to that wrestling....

So the winner is chocaddict! Congratulations! Chocaddict writes a fab blog that you can visit here.
I will be sending the prize to her very soon!

Thank you to everyone who entered!
I will be holding another giveaway very soon. I was going to wait for 300 followers but according to feedburner I've actually gone past that so I can do one whenever now!

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

China Glaze's Emerald Sparkle and a couple of dodgy manicures!

Hey!

Today I thought I'd show you a couple of manicures I've done this week that didn't really turn out as I expected.

Both times they were meant to be festive manicures but both times they didn't really turn out quite as I had imagined in my head!

The first one was a french manicure using China Glaze's Emerald Sparkle (thank you Judy!), Sinful Colors All About You, CG Fairy Dust and CG Ruby Pumps for the Konad Stamp.

This didn't stay on long because it just didn't look quite right to me... I think I need to get a better red for konading!

Next I tried a manicure using pretty much the same polishes again apart from Fairy Dust -

(China Glaze Emerald Sparkle and Ruby Pumps with Sinful Colors All About You)

Again, this just didn't quite work for me! Rather than look festive I think it looks more like a flag of some sort!

So not much success for me there! Before I did either of those though I did try out Emerald Sparkle on it's own -

SUCH a gorgeous green! Absolutely love it.

The snow here is so bad at the moment! I wished for snow so much but it's a classic case of be careful what you wish for! It'd be ok if we didn't need to go out but we don't have the turkey yet!!! I hope it slows down enough for us to go get it tomorrow.

Lastly here are a couple of really short videos for you. The first one is my 2 cats, Bobo and Barnaby, doing their favourite thing - wrestling!

About 2 seconds after I stopped filming Bobo fell off the bed and they both dashed off on a mad gallivant around the house!

Lastly, I saw this video of someone else's cat and it's so cute and funny!!

Sally Hansen's Xtreme Wear Red Carpet and some gabbling!

Hello!

This may be quite a long post as I feel I have a lot to talk about :)

I will start by showing you what I'm wearing on my nails at the moment -

This is one of the nail polishes that I got in a package from MagicXMaid (more about that later!) and people who have been reading my blog for a while now will know that's it's very unusual for me to wear red on my nails but I absolutely love this red! I usually put reds on and take them straight off again as I don't think they suit me but I think this one looks good. Of course it helps that it's chock full of glitter!

I put it on last night in a rush before going out for dinner and I figured this one would dry quite fast and it did! I probably would have put another coat on if I'd had time but I think this looks fine as it is!

Maz loves this as well. It's one of the few he noticed without me having to give him a prod and shove my nails in his face ;)

So what do you guys think? Does red suit me?! I actually wear a lot of red clothes wise so I don't know why I don't wear it on my nails more... perhaps I've been choosing the wrong shades!

Don't forget to click on the pictures for a clearer view!

So as I mentioned earlier I received a package from MagicXMaid that she sent me for my birthday (I know, it's not my birthday until next week but there was no way on earth I was waiting to open it!). I can honestly say that I think it's the BEST package I've ever received in the post! I was so excited I could barely wait to get home to open it and then when I did I was jumping round like an idiot!! Lets just say that I'm not going to run out of new polishes to swatch for a while!!

Here's an overview of what was in the package but I will be doing a proper post on it later :)

Plus a picture of Barnaby having a look to check that he approves of the colour choices -

Thank you SO much Niki, I absolutely loved the parcel and can't believe you got me so much :)

Speaking of my birthday, it's only a week away now! Still can't believe I'm going to be 30. I am going back to my hometown for the weekend but I don't have much idea what I'll be doing as Maz has organised it all and is keeping it a secret... The one thing I do know is that I will be going out in town with a few friends on the night of my actual birthday (12th). You guys are all invited of course ;) How cool would that be!! The only thing that could make my birthday better is if one of best of mates could be there but she lives in Australia now so no chance!

In other news Maz and I are moving! We finally found a house we like in an area that we like! It's taken a long time. We found out yesterday that we'd got it thus the impromptu going out for dinner and having to put np on in a rush! We had to celebrate :) Fingers crossed we will be moving beginning of October. I don't have many pictures of the place and they're all teeny tiny but here's a picture of the garden -

Exciting!

Seeing as I'm already picture heavy in this post, here's a picture of 5 of my nephews, just because I think they're cute :)

I think that's it... I feel like I've forgotten something but I can always do another post!

Don't forget to enter my giveaway if you haven't already and also don't forget to sign up to MagicXMaid's Christmas Exchange if you haven't done that either!

Thanks to everyone whose already entered my giveaway! Really happy with the response I've had.

Oh and one last picture - some Barnaby love :)
