Fireworks NOTD

Hey!

This is just a quick post to show you my Guy Fawkes manicure -

The vision in my head looked a lot more like fireworks!

I used Eyeko's Indigo as the base and just sprinkled on various nail art glitters on top.

All pics are clickable.

Although it didn't turn out quite as I'd imagined, I still loved it and it was so sparkly!

Also, to finish here are a couple of pictures of the fireworks we went to see -

Ruby Pumps Konadicure

Hey,

This is a very quick post to show you what I wore on my nails for a party at a friend's house on Saturday!

I used 2 coats of China Glaze's Ruby Pumps with konad special black polish and konad plate M65.

I really liked how it turned out and I got lots of comments on it!

I actually started out trying to use the musical notes from plate M73 but lets just say I need a bit more practise with that one.....! :)

As I said, just a quick post but I think the next post will be about my storage and that will be a very long one I suspect!

Hope you all had fab weekends!

I'm back! So I'll show you a franken :)

Hey!

I am back from my birthday weekend. Well actually I got back on Monday but I have been incredibly lazy since then and not done a lot!

I have lots to tell you and things to show you from my birthday but that will all be in another post when I've had a chance to take some pictures and stuff. What I will tell you now though is that I had one of the best weekends ever and I was completely spoilt.

So on to this post. Before I went away I did a franken which I really love.

I used -

Cover Girl Boundless Color - City Lights with 2 unbranded polishes I've had for a while.

I have no idea where the 2 unbranded polishes came from originally but I didn't particularly like either of them on their own so I decided to mix them and add some more sparkle!

This is the result -

No flash

With flash

I love it!

Here are some pictures of it on my nails. Most of them are with flash as it was the only way to capture the purple in it!

That last picture is without flash but I think you can still see the purple in it.

It's my favourite franken of the few I've made. For once it's not blue!!

Any suggestions for names are welcome :)

Lots of posts coming up over the next few days. I have so much to show you all!

Barry M Silver Cascade

Hi!

I was meaning to put Barry M Cyan on again today to show you guys but I have been extremely lazy and somehow time just got away from me!

So instead, here are some pictures of Barry M Silver Cascade that I tried a while a go but hadn't got round to posting.

I think that was 2 coats and then I eventually put on another coat to fill it in even more.
Sparkly hey!! I like it a lot and have worn it a couple of times as it goes with everything and dries SO fast that I can put it on when I'm in a rush!
Recently I put it on with a layer of Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Strobe Light (thank you Nicole!)over the top and it was GORGEOUS! That was whilst I was in London though so didn't take any pictures! I'll definitely wear that combo again at some point though so I'll be sure to take some pictures then!
That's it for now, my boyfriend, Maz, is away this weekend so I think I will be doing lots of nail painting and maybe some nail art.
Oh and I have realised that I've hit 50 subscribers! Yay! A contest/giveaway will follow some time very soon!

Some Purple and some Sparkle!

Hello Everyone!

I have been slacking this week on doing blog posts... I just haven't had a chance until now! I took photos of any polish changes though so I have a couple in reserve :)

I've had such a busy week and I can't believe it's the weekend already...where did the week go??

I was very excited earlier in the week to get my first blog award from Helen and Sheenie's Nice Things. Made my day :) It was an Adorable Blog Award and I will be posting my nominees very soon, I just haven't had time to think about it yet!

Anyway there are lots of pictures in this post so I shall get started :)

Earlier this week I finally got the opportunity to try out the 2nd polish that MagicXMaid sent me - Sinful Colors - Daddy's Girl.

This is 3 coats. It's a really, really lovely purple and I love it! My only minus about it would be that it takes forever to dry! Well worth the wait though. Just got to remember not to rely on this one when I'm in a rush...

I wore it plain for a couple of days and then decided to try NYX silver glitter over the top. Well, it was love at first sight! I just love the effect and love how it looks different in all lights!

I couldn't capture how nice the glitter looks in photos but the glitter is holographic so really sparkles!

I will definitely be doing this one again!

Some of you may remember that thumbnail cracked a couple of weeks ago and I fixed it with superglue. I had every intention of waiting until it'd grown a bit more before I chopped it down but I just couldn't put up with it in the end... The superglue worked fine but it looked horrible and even when covered in polish I just knew it was there...if you know what I mean! So I chopped it down. I had to go right to the quick. It looks very sorry for itself compared to my other nails!

Because it was my thumbnail though I haven't cut the others down because a thumbnail is easy enough to hide!

Here is the sorry nail below (it's grown a bit since the chop!) -

Also this week my first Konad stuff arrived! I was so excited! I have been playing around with it a bit but not on my nails yet. I didn't get loads in my first order as I wanted to make sure I could get the hang of it first. I will post my first attempt very soon :)
Finally I have had a little addition to my family this week. His name is Barnaby (UK people may guess where that came from!) and he's just over 8 weeks old. Isn't he adorable!

Quick French Manicure!

Hi Everyone!

I haven't posted for a few days, because I haven't been online much, due to it being SO hot here that it's hard to sit with a laptop anywhere near me for too long!!

I like hot weather but I hate sleeping in it...or should I say not sleeping in it.. Isn't it funny how when I go on holiday somewhere hot it doesn't bother me at all but here it just completely knackers me!

I shouldn't complain really, I'm sure the rain will soon be back :)

Anyway I haven't done much with my nails the past few days because as I said in my previous post, I've been giving them a bit of a breather! Tonight though I went out with some friends and just couldn't resist doing a quick french manicure before I went!

I chose BarryM's mint green because I'm in love with it at the moment :)

You can see some of the yellowness of my nails....eurgh! Drives me mad.....

This was 2 coats of base, 2 coats of BarryM mint green and then a top coat of a glitter polish that I think came from Debenhams originally.
As I said, I did this in quite a rush so it's nothing exciting really, but perfect for a summers evening out, I thought.

I can't take any pictures in the sunlight as I plan to take this off after I've finished writing this!
I have been shopping SO much this week but not bought myself any nail polish at all!! Scandalous! I, unfortunately, had to be sensible and buy clothes for once because it was getting to the point where all I had to wear out was nail polish and makeup ;)
I'm going for a long weekend in London soon with a few of my friends and I have been frantically searching for some comfortable but pretty shoes. I have the most sensitive feet in the world, I get blisters just walking to the car!!! I have really high arches which apparently doesn't help. I just don't want to be the one moaning every 2mins about my feet! Any ideas that would help would be appreciated!
So that's all for now! I'm off to stand by the fridge for a while!

BarryM Blue Glitter

Hello Everybody! Hope you are all having lovely days :)

I finally had to take the lubu heels off last night because my thumb nail split! Disaster! I don't even know how it happend but it's splitting below the quick and looks horrible! I've repaired it for the time being as it would hurt to take it off and with polish on it's not obvious unless you're properly looking for it!

So I was planning on trying the other polish (Daddy's Girl) that MagicXMaid sent me next but I ended up putting on BarryM's blue glitter (such an original name) because it went with the outfit I was wearing out!

Don't forget to click on the pictures to see the full effect!

Above and below were taken in sunlight.

Below taken in shade.

Below taken in un-natural light.

I love this polish :) It's so shiny and sparkly! It looks amazing in all lights, applies really well and is chock full of glitter from the first coat! (3 coats on in these pics).
Finally here's a picture of my repaired nail, you can see a slight bump where the repair job's been done!

Luckily my nails grow very fast so it shouldn't take too long until I can sort it properly!
I haven't had time to play with my new brushes yet but hopefully next post will show some of my experiments!
Let me know what you think of this polish! Love hearing you guys thoughts!

Lubu Heels!!

I've been so excited to do this post!

A few weeks a go, I fell in love with China Glaze's Lubu Heels after seeing in on MagicXMaid's Blog.

As many of you know, China Glaze isn't readily available in the UK so I was just coveting it from afar but then MagicXMaid sent me some!!! I was so excited when it arrived in the post that I squealed really loudly :) My boyfriend looked at me like I'd finally lost it!

I am so grateful to MagicXMaid for sending it to me, I am completely in lust with it! Also, to make it even more exciting, she sent Sinful Color's - Daddy's Girl which is a gorgeous purple with sparkle (I will do a blog about that as well). She couldn't have chosen a better colour for me :)

Anyway, I've put a few more pics than usual just because I took a million and wanted to show it at it's best! I put on 2 coats of base and then 3 coats of the lubu. It went on really well and there was hardly any clean up needed!

This was my first China Glaze and definitely won't be my last! (Click on the pictures to get the full effect!)

Thank you MagicXMaid! I may never take it off ;)

Experimenting with pigments

So I decided to do some experimenting tonight to see if I could make a new colour for my nails. These photos show you the result!

I used a clear nail varnish mixed with one of my many pigments and put on two coats.
I'm pretty pleased with the result to be honest! I'm not sure how well you can see it in the pictures (if you click on them the green shimmer is alot more obvious in the larg versions) but it's pretty much black with green shimmer in it. The green shows up alot more than I thought it would.

The pigment I used was asylum by theshespace.
You can can see it here theshespace . It's right at the bottom of the page.

So yeah I like it and I think there will plenty more pigment experiments to follow! I got the idea from someone elses blog but I can't for the life of me remember whose... I will try to find out.

My nails actually badly need shaping, especially my index finger in the pics as I chipped a bit of the nail off during a battle with the tv.

Also I'm going to try to make my layout a bit better because at the moment I'm not able to add things like a twitter link to it.

See, I'm making an effort to keep this up :)
