A Franken NOTD

Hi,

Earlier in the week I realised that my bottle of Cover Girl's City Lights was running very low and it was beginning to be difficult to use so I decided to use the rest of it for a franken. I mixed it with some of Nubar's Night Sparkles.

Here's how it turned out -

The first few shots show the true colour of the franken but the darker shots show the sparkliness! It looks best in the sun but of course there was no sun when I was taking pictures!

I love the result and will be wearing it a lot!

I went to Superdrug's yesterday and Gosh is 3 for 2 at the moment so I got some more sparkly things -

Gosh's extreme eyeliner number 26 and holographic silver eyedust. I also got the holographic nail polish but didn't take a photo of it for some reason.

Don't forget all these pictures are clickable and you can definitely see the full sparkle effect more in the big pictures!

Lastly, look what Tescos are selling now -

I'm back! So I'll show you a franken :)

Hey!

I am back from my birthday weekend. Well actually I got back on Monday but I have been incredibly lazy since then and not done a lot!

I have lots to tell you and things to show you from my birthday but that will all be in another post when I've had a chance to take some pictures and stuff. What I will tell you now though is that I had one of the best weekends ever and I was completely spoilt.

So on to this post. Before I went away I did a franken which I really love.

I used -

Cover Girl Boundless Color - City Lights with 2 unbranded polishes I've had for a while.

I have no idea where the 2 unbranded polishes came from originally but I didn't particularly like either of them on their own so I decided to mix them and add some more sparkle!

This is the result -

No flash

With flash

I love it!

Here are some pictures of it on my nails. Most of them are with flash as it was the only way to capture the purple in it!

That last picture is without flash but I think you can still see the purple in it.

It's my favourite franken of the few I've made. For once it's not blue!!

Any suggestions for names are welcome :)

Lots of posts coming up over the next few days. I have so much to show you all!

Franken, Konad and Contest Update.

Hi!

I am back from my pet sitting duties. The animals were all so cute! I will show you some pictures at some point :)

I didn't get anytime whilst I was there to do my nails as the puppies in particular were very demanding of attention!

So the following is a np I wore a couple of weeks ago.

This is Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Platinum Frost mixed with Benefit's Curtain Call. Curtain Call is one of my favourite pigments to use as an eyeliner so I thought I'd see what it looked like as a nail polish.

It's actually a lot more purple in real life but I just couldn't capture it!

Then I thought I'd konad it using image plate m56 and China Glaze 2Nite.

Again this was really difficult to photograph as the effect is really subtle!

I must have had to take a million pictures just to get these ones :)

I hope you can see the effect ok. In real life I absolutely loved the result. I kept looking at it all the time!

I'm thinking of making a konad order this week... I really want some more image plates and different colour special polishes... I'm meant to be saving though..... ;)

I mentioned a contest a while ago to celebrate me hitting 50 followers. Well I will finally be putting it up in the next couple of days! I hope you guys like it and all enter :)

I am taking Barnaby for his jabs tonight. Poor little guy doesn't know what's coming!

It's only 18 days until my birthday!! Yayayayayayayaya! I don't know if I've mentioned that it's coming up.... if I haven't then it's a miracle.. I tend to get rather excited..to put it mildly. I think I've been counting down for about 2 months now... I must drive Maz mad!

Anyway enough from me!
Hope you all had a great weekend.

A franken using BarryM Dazzledust

Hello again!

So yesterday when I began to feel a better from being ill I decided to try another franken.

This time I tried using a BarryM Dazzle Dust. I think it's called silver green although I can't be certain as it's quite old and no longer has it's label on.

I mixed it with some Sally Hansen Platinum Frost.

I really LOVE how this turned out! It's such a good colour for me as I wear quite a lot of clothes this colour.

I tried a million pictures but none of them really show just how nice this colour is. It's kind of a metallic finish.

This was 2 coats and a top coat.

I then decided to see what it'd look like with a glitter top coat.

Again the pictures really don't show how nice (in my opinion) it looks!
I think this was a successful franken :)
This Wednesday I am going to London for a few days with some girl friends of mine. I'm so glad I started this blog as it means I can go back and look at the photos to decide what colour nail polish to wear! I think it's going to be lubu heels.... but not sure about my toes yet!
Depending on how much money I spend in the evening etc. I am hoping to buy some nail polishes whilst there...there's bound to be some makes that I've never seen.
I can't wait :) We're going to see 2 musicals, eat loads, have a few cocktails, shop and do some sightseeing. I have no idea how I'm going to fit everything I want to take in to my suitcase....
Anyway that's it for tonight! Hope you like my franken! Maybe I should think of a name for it......

A quick hello and a dodgy franken!

Hello everyone!

Sorry it's been a few days since my last post. I've had a few dramas and just haven't had a chance to do a decent nail job!
I tend to be away from the computer at weekends anyway as my boyfriend and I have a no internet rule for the evenings and weekends. I usually end up going on when he goes to sleep as my sleeping pattern is quite different to his!

My biggest drama has been my cat being poorly :( Not the kitten Barnaby but our cat Bobo. She was ill at the weekend and then I took her to the vets first thing this morning and they've kept her over night. I cried my eyes out. She should be coming home tomorrow. I really hope so, I HATE being without her.

So I didn't do much with my nails over the weekend but I did attempt a franken yesterday which didn't really go to plan.... I wasn't even going to bother showing you guys but it's all I have to show you at the moment! So I will share my fail with you all :)

This is BarryM silver and a bourjois pale blue pigment. I really like the colour and it was exactly what I wanted but it's so lumpy!! Even from a distance you can see it! I think it's the bourjois pigment that's the problem, the chunks were too big....

I put a top coat on and then a glitter top coat as well. It improved it but still not great.

Then I decided to put a konad over it to see if that helped and also just to get some practise!

I think it looks a bit better but I will still be removing it fairly soon!

So that was my franken fail. I will use a better pigment next time and see if I have more success!

Here are a couple more Barnaby pics for those kitten lovers out there :) I just can't help myself!

Watching the cricket....

That's it for today. I will be redoing my nails tomorrow so will post again soon!
Everyone keep their fingers crossed that Bobo can come home tomorrow!!
