Konadicure and 3 Things About Me

Hey!

I thought I'd show you the konadicure I did for my weekend away last week. I didn't take many pictures of it though so the photos aren't the best!

I used Sinful Color's Secret Admirer as a base with China Glaze's Devotion for the stamp using image plate M64 (yes, it's a favourite!). This was a winner judging by the number of comments I got about it :)

Also, I saw a post on Niki's blog that I just can't resist doing as well. You all know I'm a sucker for these things!

Three Things About Me.

Three names I go by:

1. Sarah

2. Millie

3. Moo

Three jobs I've had:

1. Proofreader - no comments on my spelling and grammar please! ;)

2. Events Administrator

3. Recruitment Administrator

Three places I've lived:

1. Wilmslow, Cheshire

2. Newbury, Berkshire

3. Sulhamstead, Berkshire

Three favorite drinks:

1. Diet Coke

2. Tea (PG Tips!)

3. Cherryade

Three TV shows I watch:

1. Dancing On Ice ( I have such a crush on Kieron Richardson right now!)

2. Glee

3. The Mentalist

Three places I have been:

1. Dominican Republic

2. Turkey

3. Portugal

Three places I'd like to visit:

1. St Lucia

2. Maldives

3. North Carolina :)

Three people who text me regularly:

1. Maz

2. Nisa

3. My Mum

Three favorite old TV shows:

1. Knightrider

2. Murder She Wrote

3. MacGyver

Three favorite dishes:

1. Fajitas

2. Roast Chicken

3. Stuffed mushrooms

Three makeup/beauty products I cannot live without:

1. Urban Decay Primer Potion. I don't know how anyone doesn't use it! Well not necessarily the UD one but just any primer!

2. Boots No7 Illuminating Lotion.

3. Urban Decay's Book of Shadows II.

Three things I'm looking forward to:

1. Booking a holiday!

2. BBQs in the garden this summer.

3. Maz getting down on one knee ;)

That's it for those questions. I don't know why I like these things so much...I must love talking about myself!

Lastly, a couple of pictures of Bobo and Barnaby -

The stand off

Let the battle begin!

They love each other really :) (they're in the airing cupboard here by the way, getting my nice clean towels all hairy!)

That's it for today! Thanks for reading :)

Tag: 10 Things That Make Me Happy

I was tagged by the wonderful Niki, aka Magic Maid, for this. I have a feeling though that it's going to be VERY similar to Niki's post. I'm not copying honest, the same things just happen to make me happy :)

1. Maz, my lovely, amazing boyfriend. Those of you who know me a bit better will know that he spoils me a lot and puts up with my...well lets say erratic behaviour :) He is my best friend and the person I tell absolutely everything too. I would be lost without him but he's going to get a big kick up the bum if he doesn't you know what soon ;)

2. My cats - Bobo and Barnaby. Maz will be surprised that they weren't first on the list! I adore my cats. I think everyone knows that already so enough said.

3. My family. I have a fantastic family that I appreciate more and more as I get older. I think it's easy to take family for granted when you're younger but the older I get the more thankful for them I am.

4. My friends. I'm someone who doesn't make friends easily so my close friend circle is pretty small. The close friends I have though are all fantastic and I wouldn't change them for the world!

5. Cooking and eating! I love to cook. I love to go out for meals. I love food. Bad for my waistline, great for my smile! Maz of course can eat as much as he likes whenever he likes without putting on any weight. Me jealous? Absolutely!!

6. Reading. I read A LOT. If I'm not putting on nail polish then I can probably be found with my nose in a book. I've had to stop buying books and going to the library instead as the cost was getting a bit much, let alone the space books take up! I will read pretty much anything but my favourites are thrillers. I love when I find a book that has me checking the cupboards before going to sleep!

7. Getting ready for a night out. I'm sure there must be people who know what I mean by this? I love the whole process of getting ready for a big night out. I love spending ages putting my makeup on and doing my hair etc. It's even better with some friends there and some wine! Sometimes I think I enjoy the getting ready bit more than the actual night out :) I suspect that if I went out more often though, the process would soon lose its shine.

8. Urban Decay. I love all makeup but I have been having a long affair with Urban Decay. I discovered it at the very beginning of my relationship with Maz when we went on about our 5th date shopping in London. I can still remember being in Selfridges and finding the Urban Decay stand...it was love at first sight. That day I bought 2 eyeshadows - Kiddie Pool and Midnight Cowboy. I haven't stopped buying since. I don't care that sometimes I'm paying for packaging, I love the packaging!

9. Nail Polish. Of course this had to be on here! A far cheaper obsession than my previous makeup one and once I discovered konad there was absolutely no going back. I would miss all the comments I get about my nails when I'm out and about and I'm sure Maz would miss the constant stink of it if I stopped painting my nails!

10. My followers. Last but absolutely not least - all you guys! Especially the people who take the extra time to comment even though I am absolutely shocking for replying. Reading everyone's comments always brings a smile to my face. I would usually have included my actual blog in this list somewhere but well...lets just say that if me and my blog were in a relationship we'd be 'on a break' right now ;)

That's it! Highly unoriginal stuff but can't change what makes me happy hey!

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

PS - I need to tag some people on this but I have to go out in literally 5mins and I'm sat here with wet hair so I am going to add the tags later!!

Tagged: Show Me Your Fridge!

I was tagged by the awesome Niki from Magic Maid to show you my fridge and then choose something on it to take a closer look at!

I have to say, compared to the American fridges mine doesn't look much!!!

It's not a full picture as it's postion in the kitchen made it difficult to take a picture! There's nothing on top apart from a microwave though and the bottom half is the freezer.

As you can see it's quite busy. Lots of things get stuck on it, it's usually a lot worse but I actually tidied it up the other day.

I've cheated slightly with the next bit because I couldn't choose just one thing to go into more detail about so I've done 2 :)

The first is a magnet -

I love this magnet because it's something a friend of mine from my hometown sent me just when I was worrying that everyone had forgotten about me since I moved up North!

The 2nd thing is just something that makes me laugh whenever I see it -

It's a cutting from a newspaper of several diamonds. My friend has made the biggest diamond look like a ring. She gave this to me and told me that that's what her engagement ring would look like :) She is actually engaged now and her ring is gorgeous although not quite as big as that picture ;)

So that's my fridge!

Happy Birthday to Lucy and a tag :)

The gorgeous Christy from The Kronicles of a Konad-er tagged me for this great award! Thank you Christy :)

The rules are that I have to post a song that makes me a smile and then award the blogs that make me smile and tell you why.

I am a bit behind in this tag so goodness knows who I'm going to tag that hasn't already done it!

I thought way too much about which song to pick. If I had my way I'd show you about 10! In the end I have gone for a real cheesy one because, without fail, whenever I hear it I smile and feel happy!

I don't even understand what they're singing about but it doesn't matter!

I tag -

Joyce from Marble Nails - I just love her blog and love to see all the experiments she does with nail art. Her posts are always really cute and funny.

Sophie from Me Love Makeup - Sophie is a fellow UK blogger and I love to read her reviews on everything. Her blog always looks fab and she's just a lovely, lovely person!

Jen from Awesomevegan's Adventures - I love reading Jen's posts. She's always really friendly and also chats to me on twitter. Also I love to read her vegan recipes (I'm not vegan but I'm all about the food, any food!).

I'm going to stick at 3. I always say this, but there are loads more I would happily tag, unfortunately there are only so many hours in the day and a lot of people that I would have tagged have already been tagged.

Also, like a couple of other people I've seen have done, I want to mention the lovely Lucy too. If she had a blog I would tag her a million times over. Lucy always leaves really lovely comments and does it for everyone, not just me. Her comments always show that she's really read the post properly and has taken the time to remember things about me which I think is an amazing thing. So thank you Lucy for making me smile! Oh and I've just read that it's your birthday today so a big ♪ ♫ ♬ HAPPY BIRTHDAY ♪ ♫ ♬ from me and I hope you have a fantastic day!

7 Things Tag and a contest from The Hungry Asian!

Hi,

First off, Heather from Lambchop Mobile tagged me for the 7 things tag going around at the moment. I'd been hoping to be tagged so thanks Heather :)

The colour that the Mighty Lambchop chose for me is orange. ORANGE! That is quite possibly the most difficult one she could have chosen for me as I don't really have a lot of it! I thought I wouldn't be able to find anything but I managed to find a few bits and pieces in the end.

So here it is -

1 - Harlan Coben's Back For Good. This is the first Harlan Coben I ever read and still probably my favourite.

2 - All the orange pens that I own. Stationary is another of my addictions, but I didn't think I had any orange pens... shows how much I know!

3 - The only item of clothing I own with any orange in it! I do quite like this top though and it's one of Maz's favourites on me.

4 - The Body Shop's Mango Body Butter. This stuff is great and smells divine!

5 - The only 2 orange nail polishes that I own - Sinful Color's Serena and Chloe and Collection 2000's Hip Hop.

6 - Turmeric - I love to cook and use this a lot in curries etc.

7 - This was a dodgy one as I'm not sure you can really call it orange but... it's the best I could do! It's a giant paw bed that was originally Bobo's but now Barnaby sleeps on it most of the time. They both love to pad on it.

I think nearly everyone's been tagged by now but I will try to tag people that I haven't seen a tag for yet...

awesomevegan (I'm sorry, I don't know your name!)

If you've already been tagged or already done it and I've somehow missed it then please ignore me :)

The colour I choose is..... BLUE!

Secondly, Kae, from The Hungry Asian is have her 1st giveaway and it's a fantastic one! The prizes are a bottle of MAC Baby Goth Girl, Hard Candy's Mr Wong and China Glaze's Fortune Teller. I want all 3 of these so much! I wonder if she'll notice if I enter under every name I can think of.... ;)

To enter go here!

Ten Bloggers & Ten Random Facts Award

Rebecca from
Panda Does Makeup tagged me for this award. Thank you Rebecca!
I will try to think of some facts that I've never told you guys before but if I repeat myself then ignore me!

The Rules:

I share 10 random facts about me

I then tag 10 blogs I ♥ reading

10 random facts:

1. I love to clean. I don't mean in an obsessive 'I must get rid of all the germs' way, I mean I just enjoy cleaning. It relaxes me. I even have books about it. My mum can't believe how much I enjoy it because as a child I was the untidiest person ever! She used to dump everything on my bed to try to get me to tidy up but I'd just dump it all back on the floor again :) I was a delight.

2. I can't watch result/eviction shows or auditions for anything like X Factor (UK version of American Idol), Big Brother, Strictly Come Dancing etc. I can't stand seeing people have their dreams smashed/made a fool of/booed etc. It makes me feel sick. If I get into a programme like that then I always switch off when it gets to those bits :) To be honest though I don't watch many programmes like that full stop but I do LOVE Strictly Come Dancing and get very excited about it.

3. I am double jointed. My fingers and toes bend backwards and I freak people out showing them.

4. When I was 16 I had a horse riding accident and shattered a bone in my elbow that had to be operated on. 14 years later I still have a lot of issues with that elbow and struggle with things like bowling and throwing!

5. My Grandad was a vicar and my Grandma played the church organ for every service he did.

6. I used to be in a steel band. We played at fetes and concerts. I also used to play the guitar, piano and drums.

7. I don't do diets. One of my biggest loves in life is food, I don't believe in making myself miserable to lose weight so I just accept that I'm never going to be a size 10 (ummmm US sz 6?!). I'm not huge but I'm not thin either. I have lots of cuddly bits ;) One of my and Maz's favourite thing to do is go out for dinner and I would hate for that to be lost due to a diet!!

8. I don't like onions. I hate the taste and the smell. I especially hate raw onions. I spend far too much time picking onion out of things! I don't mind it in a sauce though, as long as it's not visable.

9. My mum drank so many milkshakes when she was pregnant with me that I was born allergic to cows milk. Over time I got over the allergy but I am still a bit lactose intolerant so I tend to use soya products for most things otherwise I get really bad acid indigestion.

10. Maz tells me 1 thing he loves about me every day. They are always different and they always make me smile. Yesterdays was that he loves when I sing show songs at the top of my voice for no reason, the day before it was he loves how I tie my favourite lounging trousers up with a hairband to keep them up because the elastic is gone so I end up with this silly looking thing at the front (they're my favourite, I don't want to throw them away!). The little ones like that are the ones I love to hear the most :)

10 bloggers I read religiously: (in no particular order)

Nihrida
Beauty Judy
Getcha Nails Did
Helen and Sheenie's Nice Things
Magic Maid
Nails in Aus
The Digital Rebel
Marble Nails
Body and Soul
Pretty Clever

That is just a fraction of the blogs that I read religiously and I wish I could include everyone. I've just gone with blogs that I have read a post on recently so are fresh in my mind but I read EVERYONE's blogs and love them all :)
