Konadicure and 3 Things About Me

Hey!

I thought I'd show you the konadicure I did for my weekend away last week. I didn't take many pictures of it though so the photos aren't the best!

I used Sinful Color's Secret Admirer as a base with China Glaze's Devotion for the stamp using image plate M64 (yes, it's a favourite!). This was a winner judging by the number of comments I got about it :)

Also, I saw a post on Niki's blog that I just can't resist doing as well. You all know I'm a sucker for these things!

Three Things About Me.

Three names I go by:

1. Sarah

2. Millie

2. Boots No7 Illuminating Lotion.

3. Urban Decay's Book of Shadows II.

Three things I'm looking forward to:

1. Booking a holiday!

2. BBQs in the garden this summer.

3. Maz getting down on one knee ;)

That's it for those questions. I don't know why I like these things so much...I must love talking about myself!

Lastly, a couple of pictures of Bobo and Barnaby -

The stand off

Let the battle begin!

They love each other really :) (they're in the airing cupboard here by the way, getting my nice clean towels all hairy!)

That's it for today! Thanks for reading :)

Tag: 10 Things That Make Me Happy

I was tagged by the wonderful Niki, aka Magic Maid, for this. I have a feeling though that it's going to be VERY similar to Niki's post. I'm not copying honest, the same things just happen to make me happy :)

1. Maz, my lovely, amazing boyfriend. Those of you who know me a bit better will know that he spoils me a lot and puts up with my...well lets say erratic behaviour :) He is my best friend and the person I tell absolutely everything too. I would be lost without him but he's going to get a big kick up the bum if he doesn't you know what soon ;)

2. My cats - Bobo and Barnaby. Maz will be surprised that they weren't first on the list! I adore my cats. I think everyone knows that already so enough said.

3. My family. I have a fantastic family that I appreciate more and more as I get older. I think it's easy to take family for granted when you're younger but the older I get the more thankful for them I am.

4. My friends. I'm someone who doesn't make friends easily so my close friend circle is pretty small. The close friends I have though are all fantastic and I wouldn't change them for the world!

5. Cooking and eating! I love to cook. I love to go out for meals. I love food. Bad for my waistline, great for my smile! Maz of course can eat as much as he likes whenever he likes without putting on any weight. Me jealous? Absolutely!!

6. Reading. I read A LOT. If I'm not putting on nail polish then I can probably be found with my nose in a book. I've had to stop buying books and going to the library instead as the cost was getting a bit much, let alone the space books take up! I will read pretty much anything but my favourites are thrillers. I love when I find a book that has me checking the cupboards before going to sleep!

7. Getting ready for a night out. I'm sure there must be people who know what I mean by this? I love the whole process of getting ready for a big night out. I love spending ages putting my makeup on and doing my hair etc. It's even better with some friends there and some wine! Sometimes I think I enjoy the getting ready bit more than the actual night out :) I suspect that if I went out more often though, the process would soon lose its shine.

8. Urban Decay. I love all makeup but I have been having a long affair with Urban Decay. I discovered it at the very beginning of my relationship with Maz when we went on about our 5th date shopping in London. I can still remember being in Selfridges and finding the Urban Decay stand...it was love at first sight. That day I bought 2 eyeshadows - Kiddie Pool and Midnight Cowboy. I haven't stopped buying since. I don't care that sometimes I'm paying for packaging, I love the packaging!

9. Nail Polish. Of course this had to be on here! A far cheaper obsession than my previous makeup one and once I discovered konad there was absolutely no going back. I would miss all the comments I get about my nails when I'm out and about and I'm sure Maz would miss the constant stink of it if I stopped painting my nails!

10. My followers. Last but absolutely not least - all you guys! Especially the people who take the extra time to comment even though I am absolutely shocking for replying. Reading everyone's comments always brings a smile to my face. I would usually have included my actual blog in this list somewhere but well...lets just say that if me and my blog were in a relationship we'd be 'on a break' right now ;)

That's it! Highly unoriginal stuff but can't change what makes me happy hey!

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

PS - I need to tag some people on this but I have to go out in literally 5mins and I'm sat here with wet hair so I am going to add the tags later!!

In and Out! Plus a few collection pictures.

Hi!

It is absolutely miserable weather here today. So much so that I can't for the life of me, get a decent picture of the nail polish I currently have on. The polish I have on has shot straight to the top of my favourite list so I want to show you guys some decent shots of it so I'm going to see if it's a bit brighter tomorrow... I won't hold my breath, I do live in the UK after all!

So in the mean time I thought I would do something I've seen Sophie from melovemakeup do on her blog - Ins and Outs!

Ins

- HJ Manicure's Midnight Sky - I am SO in love with this nail polish! I will post pictures soon :)

- Urban Decay's Box of Shadows Vol II. I love every single thing about it. I have used it every time I've done my makeup recently. SO pretty!

- Preparing to put up the Christmas decorations tomorrow! The 1st of December is the earliest I feel I can put them up!

- Bernard Matthew's Mini Kievs - random I know but I just love them. I think I could eat them everyday forever.

- Getting excited about the Christmas Party this Friday! Posh hotel, open bar, lots of turkey, what else could I ask for!

Outs

- Not being able to sleep. My insomnia is so bad at the moment!

- The days getting gloomier and gloomier. I want to take pictures of my manicures!!

- Christmas shopping rage. I love Christmas shopping but I'm not so good with the crowds and queues. Maz says I get the shopping rage look on my face and the elbows come out :)

- Not being able to go back to hometown until after Christmas :(

That's it I think!

For those of you that didn't want to watch the video about my storage in my last post, here are a few pictures of my nail polish collection -

I didn't take pictures of my makeup, you'll have to watch the video if you want to see that ;)

Nail Polish & Makeup Storage.

Hello!

It's taken several attempts but I've finally managed to upload a video to YouTube to show you guys my storage!

The reason I don't sound very bouncy in it is because it was about my 5th attempt to record a video under 10mins long! I couldn't edit because as soon as I edit anything it seems to increase the upload time to about 10 hours!

Anyway I decided to do a video because there were just too many pictures. For those of you who don't want to watch the video then I will put a few pics on later :)

Sorry about the quality and lack of good lighting!

So here it is -

As you can see my collection is not nearly as big as most people's but I'm having a good go at increasing it :)

Hope you enjoyed the video. Let me know if you want to see anything more closely or have any questions!

Birthday Pictures (including new nail polishes!)!

Hey!

Finally I have sorted through my pictures and am able to do a post about my birthday :)

Be warned, this post is VERY picture heavy. There is nail polish in it though, promise!

So, as you all know, it was my 30th birthday a couple of weeks ago. I went back to my hometown for it and most of it was a surprise, all organised by my boyfriend, Maz.

We travelled down to Newbury on the Thursday (cats and all) and the first thing I did when I got there was get my hair cut! I still haven't found a hairdressers up here so I always get it done whenever I go back.
Then we spent the evening with my parents who ordered their first dominos pizza and loved it!
Friday we spent the day with my parents and then in the evening I was surprised with a meal out with my family at a local restaurant. My parents had been earlier in the day and decorated the table with lots of sparkly things and some flowers. They also took a cake to be brought out after dinner.

This was the cake -

It may not be obvious by this picture but this cake was HUGE!! I still have most of it in the fridge :)

It was a lovely evening and the food was amazing. I nearly cried when I saw the table had been decorated especially for me. At the end of the night I made everyone pick up all the bits of glitter/tassles/confetti etc so that I could take it all home.

Next day, Saturday, was my actual birthday. I got up early so that my dad could see me open presents before going to work.

Here's what I got -

An overview of everything! The helmer (storage) wasn't a present, my parents just weren't using it much so said I could have it!

The Urban Decay Book of Shadows II was from Barnaby. Such a clever kitten ;)

This little fellow is called Theo and is from Swarovski. This was my present from Bobo. Again, such a clever cat!

A gorgeous bracelet from my brother and his wife (and their bump!).

A nail art kit from my sister and her family. I can't wait for my nails to grow a bit so that I can try this out!

My 2 main presents from Maz. I adore them both. I wear the necklace 24/7 and will wear the watch once we've had it adjusted to fit my wrist!

Spice rack from my parents. I've wanted one of these for sooooo long! I love to cook. My parents also gave me some money which I bought some nail polishes with and plan to make a konad order with the rest :)

Now for the polishes I got -

(L-R) Barry M Acid Yellow, Grey and Dazzle Dust 933. Boots No 7 in Vivid Violet.

The Barry M were from Maz and the Boots No. 7 from a friend. Maz said he tried to choose colours I wouldn't usually get myself and I have to say I'm impressed because I swatched them and LOVE them!

(L-R) OPI DS Extravagance, Lincoln Park After Dark, Teal The Cows Come Home and Purple With a Purpose.

My first full size OPIs!! I was so excited when I saw these. They came from Australia from one of my best friends who lives there.

(L-R) China Glaze Sexy In The City, Watermelon Rind, Ruby Pumps and OPI Reflecting Pool.

As I mentioned earlier I got some money from my parents so I finally went to a Sally's to see what they had and was so happy to find some China Glaze and OPIs! I can't believe I've never checked them out before!

Plus another couple of things I picked up. Some nail bandages and a peroxide whitening gel.

That's it for presents. I also got a dressing table but it's not being delivered until after we move.

I was very, very spoilt. Especially by Maz :)

After the present opening was over Maz then told me that we were booked into a local hotel for the next 2 nights. I was so excited and completely surprised, hadn't seen that one coming at all. So we left the cats with my parents and went to the hotel. We had the most amazing room, I wish I'd taken some pics! It was the Executive Suite - ooo la la!
I had a lovely long bath and got ready for a night out with my friends. I thought we were meeting them in town but at about 8pm Maz said he had to go get something from the car and came back a few mins later with a cake and some of my friends! He'd had the cake made by the hotel and he'd been out earlier to get lots of alcohol for me and my friends (he doesn't drink).

Here's the cake -

How cute! My name is Sarah but my nickname is Millie... for those of you wondering! Maz always calls me Millie.

So we had a few (!) drinks at the hotel and then we hit the town!

Here are a few pics -

That dress I'm wearing was another pressie from Maz.

Me, Hanna and Nisa.

The man who gave me the best birthday ever :)

We took a million pictures but none of me and Maz together came out that great! :(

We had a great night. We danced the whole time and laughed a lot.

Then the next day we went to my parents again for a meal and back to the hotel in the evening.

Monday it was all over and time to go back home again :( I did get one more surprise though, a big bunch of flowers from best friend in Australia. They were meant to be delivered on my birthday but had got lost on route! They were gorgeous and can be seen in the pictures above.

So I had an absolutely fantastic 30th and I didn't want it to end. Maz put so much thought into organising the whole thing and bought me so many presents that I was almost in tears over it all. He also wrote me the sweetest card ever and got me cards from Bobo and Barnaby too :)

I am a very lucky girl.

Sorry for this mammoth post. I know a lot of people won't be interested but I know at least a couple of you who will be.

Thanks for reading!

11 Happy Things

Helen did this tag and tagged anyone who wanted to do it so I thought I would give it a go and also take the opportunity to tell you more about me!

In no particular order, my 11 happy things -

1. Maz, my boyfriend.

This is a picture taken on holiday. We were about to go to the beach thus I have no makeup on. I don't know why I feel the need to defend my naked face, I just do ;) I chose this picture because I love him in it!
We've been together nearly 3 years now and would get married tomorrow if we could :)

Completely off the subject - look at my nails! They're bare... this was before the obsession began!

2. My cats, Bobo and Barnaby.

To say I love these guys would be an understatement. I adore them and spoil them rotten. Bobo is 2 and a half and Barnaby is 3 months.

3. My family and friends.

I'm not going to put any pics on of them as I'm unsure how they'd feel about me putting them out there like that! I have an amazing family who I've come to appreciate more and more in the last few years and my friends are fantastic too!

4. Books.

I love to read. I've been known to read about 10 books a week before(thank goodness for libraries). I could read all day and all night. My favourite authors are Harlen Coben and Nicci French.

5. Ghost Whisperer.

It's my favourite program. I absolutely love it. I couldn't tell you why. I just do.

6. Urban Decay.

About 3 years ago I went to London and one of my friends told me to check out Urban Decay in Selfridges. It was love at first sight and I've been addicted ever since.

This is a picture of some of my eyeshadow -

7. Chocolate.

How predictable hey! I almost didn't include this but then thought 'who am I kidding'! There's not much I can say about this. I LOVE CHOCOLATE!

8. Nail polish.

My addiction grows by the day. At least it's less expensive than my makeup addiction though! I love trying all the different colours and love that I have to keep upgrading my storage to bigger things!

9. The blogging community.

Ever since starting my blog I have loved getting to know everyone. I love looking at everyone else's blogs and I love getting comments on mine. My first port of call when I turn on my laptop is always my dashboard! I tried YouTube for a while but it wasn't for me at all. This is so much nicer and friendlier. I hope to carry on making new friends and learning new things!

10. My hometown.

I know it's sad but I really love my hometown of Newbury! I grew up there and lived there until Dec 07. When I lived there I didn't appreciate it but now I live in Manchester I really miss it! Going back for visits to see friends and family is my favourite thing to do. I am definitely a small town girl. I am happy where we are at the moment but it's not permanent and we will be back in Newbury within the next 3 years. I want my children to grow up there too :)

11. Glitter.

I couldn't not have it could I! :) People think I'm joking but I do love glitter! I would bathe in it if I could. Wherever I go glitter seems to follow. I leave it everywhere even when I don't think I've used any! One of my friends has ocd over it and hates it being everywhere so I try really hard when going to hers not to have any on my anywhere... she still finds some. I think I sneeze it.

That's it! I hope you've liked reading some stuff about me that isn't really np related!

I tag anyone who wants to do it!

Makeup!

I went out for dinner for my boyfriend's birthday earlier so I thought I'd show you what makeup I wore!

I always feel like such an idiot when I take pictures like these!

I don't watch a lot of makeup videos on youtube anymore but this look is inspired by a video I watched yesterday by makeupsquare. It doesn't actually look much like what she did but....well I tried!

I hate my nose ;p

The finished look. That's my boyfriend sat behind me, playing on the Wii. He got a new game for his birthday and has been on it all day!! My fault, I bought it for him!
