China Glaze's Sexy In The City

Hi!

I've been slacking again ;) Don't I sound like a broken record?! I don't have any excuse, I just haven't changed my polish much in the past week or so!

So I did my nails yesterday using China Glaze's Sexy In The City. It's one of my favourite colours at the moment although I'm not totally convinced it suits my skin tone!

Here are the pics -

This was 3 coats and a topcoat. It's a bit darker in real life but I couldn't quite capture it right.

I wonder how long it will survive without being konaded?!

I also had the same colour on last week but as a french manicure -

and I always get lots of help from Barnaby when doing my nails -

My nails are pretty long now (for me) and I'm feeling the urge to cut them again... I just can't seem to shape them so that I'm happy with them.

I'm also thinking of going back to my old comment system. Intense Debate is great for replying but it seems to take a while to load and sometimes crashes my browser...

Lastly, I'm updating my blog roll so if you're not on it and want to be then please let me know! I try to follow everyone but I sometimes miss a few.

Have a good weekend everyone!

OPI's Purple With A Purpose Konadicure

Hey!

Sorry I've been a bit quiet on the blogging front recently. I have been feeling a bit disheartened with the whole thing due to various reasons so decided to take a bit of a step back. Not much of a step back though as I can't resist showing you my latest konadicure :)

I used OPI's Purple With A Purpose as a base and China Glaze's Devotion with image plate M64 for the konad.

Purple With A Purpose is a gorgeous purple. It doesn't show in any of these pictures but there is a hint of red running through the purple.
This image from M64 is definitely one of my favourites even though it still reminds me of wallpaper!

This weekend I am going away again. My friend from Australia is back for a couple of weeks so I'm going to see her! I can't wait. This time though, there will  be a lot less shots consumed!!!

Oh and for those of you who asked, Valentine's Day was great! Maz spoilt me loads. We went out for a lovely meal and he bought me lots of pressies :) The roses he got me are still going strong despite several attempts from Bobo and Barnaby to eat them.

Hope everyone had a good weekend!

Valentine's Nails - C2000 Vixen

Hey,

It's the weekend! Yay! Not only is it the weekend, it's Valentine's weekend! I know lots of people are very anti Valentine's Day but I can't help it, I love it!

I have done my nails for the occasion but they're not at all what I had planned. I was going to do a konadicure but I just haven't had the time so they are just very basic and simple!

I used Collection 2000's Vixen (very appropriate name I felt!) topped with a coat of China Glaze's Fairy Dust and then a coat of Sally Hansen's Strobe Light.

I have to say that it was IMPOSSIBLE to capture the true colour of this polish. I got very frustrated trying because it's such a gorgeous bright fuschia. It looks far more red in some of the pictures than it actually is.

The last picture shows the true colour as best I could get it!

So, I love it, even if it is a bit uninspired :)

I don't know what I'm doing tomorrow, it's all a surprise but I'm very excited!

I hope everyone has a good weekend and for those celebrating it - a fab Valentine's Day!

Models Own Blue Med

Hey,

Today I thought I'd show you one of the polishes from my Models Own haul. I couldn't decide which one to try first so I just closed my eyes and picked. Blue Med was the winner!

These pics are all pre clean-up so excuse the mess!

This was 3 coats and no top coat. The colour photographs really well and is exactly like this in real life.
I was really impressed overall with this polish. The brush is very precise and easy to use and I had no problems with application whatsoever. It dried really fast between coats and isn't as sheer as I thought it might be. Although there is a bit of a VNL in these pics, it isn't nearly so obvious in real life!
It's a gorgeous pale blue and reminds me so much of a polish I used to wear all the time when I was younger that I sadly lost at some point so I'm really pleased I picked this one. Can't wait to try the others now!

If you read my last post then you'll know I've been away for the weekend. I had a great time but am still pretty tired from it! A few too many shots were consumed.... I very rarely drink and will probably stop completely at some point but when I have a few too many I go a bit doo lally!!

Hope everyone had good weekends!

OPI DS Extravagance Konadicure

Hey,

Just a quickie today!

Not my favourite konad I've ever done but I do love OPI's DS Extravagance!

I used 2 coats of OPI's DS Extravagance for the base and China Glaze's Devotion for the Konad with image plate M25.

DS Extravagance is such a gorgeous colour! I've worn it before but never taken pictures for some reason... sometimes I forget!

I've added a new widget in the left hand side bar for formspring.me so if you have any questions, ask away! I'll answer most things :)

Another Emerald Sparkle Manicure!

Hey!

This is just a quick post to show you what I currently have on my nails.

It's another look using China Glaze's Emerald Sparkle -

Along with Emerald Sparkle as the base I used Sinful Color's Queen of Beauty and Barry M's Silver.

I've had this on for a day but just ruined it by cleaning the bathroom without gloves on! I shall have to do something else now :)

As I said, just a quick post as I have a small gnome or something trying to hammer it's way out of my head! Ouchie.

China Glaze's Emerald Sparkle and a couple of dodgy manicures!

Hey!

Today I thought I'd show you a couple of manicures I've done this week that didn't really turn out as I expected.

Both times they were meant to be festive manicures but both times they didn't really turn out quite as I had imagined in my head!

The first one was a french manicure using China Glaze's Emerald Sparkle (thank you Judy!), Sinful Colors All About You, CG Fairy Dust and CG Ruby Pumps for the Konad Stamp.

This didn't stay on long because it just didn't look quite right to me... I think I need to get a better red for konading!

Next I tried a manicure using pretty much the same polishes again apart from Fairy Dust -

(China Glaze Emerald Sparkle and Ruby Pumps with Sinful Colors All About You)

Again, this just didn't quite work for me! Rather than look festive I think it looks more like a flag of some sort!

So not much success for me there! Before I did either of those though I did try out Emerald Sparkle on it's own -

SUCH a gorgeous green! Absolutely love it.

The snow here is so bad at the moment! I wished for snow so much but it's a classic case of be careful what you wish for! It'd be ok if we didn't need to go out but we don't have the turkey yet!!! I hope it slows down enough for us to go get it tomorrow.

Lastly here are a couple of really short videos for you. The first one is my 2 cats, Bobo and Barnaby, doing their favourite thing - wrestling!

About 2 seconds after I stopped filming Bobo fell off the bed and they both dashed off on a mad gallivant around the house!

Lastly, I saw this video of someone else's cat and it's so cute and funny!!

HJ Manicure - Midnight Sky

Hey!

I have given up waiting for brighter weather to take photos of my current manicure in! I have a feeling I'd be waiting until next year :)

As I said in my previous post, I am currently wearing Midnight Sky from HJ Manicure and I absolutely LOVE it.

HJ Manicure is a brand I found through Twitter and Helen, the owner, very kindly sent me a couple of her polishes to try!

The first one I put on was Midnight Sky. It's an absolutely gorgeous dark blue with just a hint of purple and sparkle. I have not stopped looking at my nails since putting it on as it's one of those polishes that looks different in different lights.

Here are some pictures -

Isn't it lovely? I just wish there was some sun to take some pictures in because then I might have been able to capture the flash of purple a bit better.
I've had this polish on for several days now thus why the cuticle area doesn't look too great in the pics! My nails grow so fast!

The application was great and only took 2 coats.

Along with the polishes, Helen also sent a shade chart of all the colours available. Lethal in my case as I now want them all!!

(Click on the picture to get a better view!)

Midnight Sky has definitely shot into my top 5 favourite polishes list. I think I will do a konad over it this week and wear it to the Christmas party!

Visit HJ Manicure here!

The other shade that Helen sent me was R8 which is a dark grey colour. I will show you that in another post :)

Hope everyone's having a good week so far! I'm off to decorate the Christmas tree!
