OPI DS Extravagance Konadicure

Hey,

Just a quickie today!

Not my favourite konad I've ever done but I do love OPI's DS Extravagance!

I used 2 coats of OPI's DS Extravagance for the base and China Glaze's Devotion for the Konad with image plate M25.

DS Extravagance is such a gorgeous colour! I've worn it before but never taken pictures for some reason... sometimes I forget!

I've added a new widget in the left hand side bar for formspring.me so if you have any questions, ask away! I'll answer most things :)

Tagged: Show Me Your Fridge!

I was tagged by the awesome Niki from Magic Maid to show you my fridge and then choose something on it to take a closer look at!

I have to say, compared to the American fridges mine doesn't look much!!!

It's not a full picture as it's postion in the kitchen made it difficult to take a picture! There's nothing on top apart from a microwave though and the bottom half is the freezer.

As you can see it's quite busy. Lots of things get stuck on it, it's usually a lot worse but I actually tidied it up the other day.

I've cheated slightly with the next bit because I couldn't choose just one thing to go into more detail about so I've done 2 :)

The first is a magnet -

I love this magnet because it's something a friend of mine from my hometown sent me just when I was worrying that everyone had forgotten about me since I moved up North!

The 2nd thing is just something that makes me laugh whenever I see it -

It's a cutting from a newspaper of several diamonds. My friend has made the biggest diamond look like a ring. She gave this to me and told me that that's what her engagement ring would look like :) She is actually engaged now and her ring is gorgeous although not quite as big as that picture ;)

So that's my fridge!

I tag -

Nubar Sparkles - Night and Hyacinth!

Hey,

Today I am showing you 2 of the prettiest (in my opinion!) polishes I've ever seen.

Those of you who follow me on Twitter will know that it was lust at first sight for me with the new Nubar Sparkles collection and I was very excited about them being released. So imagine my excitement when I got an email from the UK Nubar Team offering to send me 2 of the collection for review! There was lots of squealing let me tell you!
I, of course, took them up on the offer and chose to have Night and Hyacinth sent to me.

Get ready for lots of pictures! There was no way I could only show 1 picture each of them :)

First off - Hyacinth Sparkle

Be sure to click on at least one picture to get the full sparkle effect!

Isn't it pretty?! I used 3 coats along with a topcoat. I could probably have left it at 2 coats but I couldn't resist a 3rd :)
Application, for me, was very good. I didn't have any issues at all and I am a big fan of the shape of the brush as it was perfect for my nail shape.
I can't explain just how much this sparkles when the light hits it and I love the colour. I don't have another glitter remotely like it!

Next - Night Sparkle

Gah! Oh the gorgeousness! This is another one that I have nothing even vaguely similar to. It is the most gorgeous shade of blue and it sparkles SO much! Love it.

This is 2 coats with a topcoat. With this one I could have gotten away with 1 coat as coverage was very good. Application was great, no dragging or patchiness.
Again, these photos, don't do justice to how much this polish sparkles! I wish it was sunny here!

I'm sure some of you will want to know how easy these are to remove, because we all know that glitters can be a nightmare! I have to say I was pleasantly surprised with these. While they don't come off as easily as a non glitter polish, they come off much easier than most other glitters I own. I think they are a finer glitter which makes a difference. It took me no time at all to get the whole lot off. I now have it back on again though, couldn't resist ;)

As I said before, these polishes were sent to me for review by the UK Nubar team. You can buy these polishes from Beauty Shed for £8 each and they are available now! The Sparkles collection is here. I plan to buy some more after payday this week!! I especially have my eye on Sky Sparkles and Violet Sparkles although I will probably buy the whole lot eventually... :)

Hope everyone had a good weekend, I'm off to shove my hands into people's faces so that they can oooh and aahh over the sparkliness!

Giveaway Winner and some cat pictures!

Hey!

I've just picked a winner for my giveaway that I did here.

Before I tell you who's won, here are some pictures of me picking the name -

Maz is away this weekend so I had to draft in some different invigilators :)

Barnaby checking I hadn't missed anyone out.

Bobo overseeing me folding the names into a box.

Both getting distracted briefly.... big wrestling match ensued!

Barnaby double checking that they're all there.

Bobo getting a bit bored of the whole thing.

Distracted again.... 2nd wrestling match ensues....

Ok, they're back to being sensible and ready to find out who has won!

.....and the winner is......

Yay!

Now they can relax and get back to that wrestling....

So the winner is chocaddict! Congratulations! Chocaddict writes a fab blog that you can visit here.
I will be sending the prize to her very soon!

Thank you to everyone who entered!
I will be holding another giveaway very soon. I was going to wait for 300 followers but according to feedburner I've actually gone past that so I can do one whenever now!

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Chi Chi Moondust Konadicure!

Hello!

How is everyone? Good I hope!

I have been feeling a little strange for the past couple of weeks. When I say strange I don't really know how to explain it...just kind of uneasy I guess. Uneasy but unsure exactly what I'm uneasy about?! Does anyone else ever feel like that? Well anyway, I'm feeling better now so my blog post rate should go up a bit :)

I have a konadicure to show you today. I am very happy with how it turned out and I think it might just be my favourite one yet.....

I used Chi Chi's Moondust, which I got as part of my fab Christmas present from my friend who currently lives in Australia (I say currently because I'm hoping she's coming back one day!), as the base along with China Glaze's Devotion, which I got in my swap with Beauty Judy, as the stamp using image plate M35.

Be sure to click on these pictures to see the full loveliness of Moondust!

Moondust is SUCH a gorgeous colour. I absolutely love it, it is much more purple in person that it appears in these pictures. It is definitely a contender for favourite polish ever!
Devotion is a perfect polish for konading with. I didn't have any issues with it and now want some more similar China Glaze colours!

As you can see, my nails are quite short at the moment. When I first cut them down so short I almost cried because I thought they looked so bad but it was worth it to finally be rid of all the yellow! Plus they've grown on me now (no pun intended!) and I quite like them short :)

I have a post coming up soon of answers to some questions I've been asked a lot recently. If anyone has any more questions then ask away now and I'll answer them in the post!

Lastly, for those of you who haven't entered yet, don't forget to enter my giveaway here.

Small Giveaway! *CLOSED*

Hello again! This is my 3rd post today after not posting anything for over a week!

I have been meaning to do this giveaway for ages but various factors have stopped me until now!

It's only a small giveaway but I plan to have a bigger one in the next month or so that will be more of a contest than a giveaway!

A while ago I ordered the first Eyeko nail polish collection. Eyeko very kindly included 3 extra bottles in my order for me to give away.

Here they are -

(L-R) Eyeko Pastel Polish, Saucy Red Polish and Vamp Polish

I personally love them because they are just too cute!! The Vamp polish is actually a very dark blue rather than the black it looks in the picture.

Also along with that I thought I'd chuck in a bottle of Rimmel's Blue Me Away -

I have 2 bottles of it so why not let someone else have it! Personally I think it's more of a purple than a blue...

None of the polishes have been opened or used at all.

Anyone can enter but you must be a follower and answer the following question -

What are the names of my 2 cats? I mention them all the time in my posts so it shouldn't be too difficult to find out :)

Just leave the answer along with your email address in the comments box and I will do a random draw on the 22nd February. If you prefer not to leave your email address in the comments then you can email me your entry to glittermillie@ymail.com.

Good luck and don't forget to keep an eye out for another contest coming up soon!

EDIT: I've just realised that asking the question is a bit pointless when only the first commenter needs to answer it and everyone else can copy!! Hahahah! Duh! Oh well might as well carry on now :)

Happy 101!

So this is my 2nd tag of the day as I am trying to catch up with everything!

The lovely Beauty Judy and Magic Maid both tagged me for this so thank you Judy and Niki!

Both Niki and Judy did this a different way so I'm going to do it Judy's way purely because the previous tag I've just done has facts about me and I don't think I could think of another 10 more!!

So the rules are list 10 things you love and tag 10 friends.

10 things I love are -

1. Maz, Bobo and Barnaby.

2. My family.

3. My friends (and that includes my online friends!)

4. My bed. It's the most comfy bed in the world and I want to always be in it!!

5. Nail Polish. A given but I couldn't leave it out :)

6. Urban Decay. It's like a drug for me. I have to have it!

7. Jalapenos. Or pretty much any chillies really. The hotter the better!

8. Dancing. Nothing cheers me up faster than watching dancing on tv or dancing myself!

9. Storage. You can never have enough! I just love it. Buying it, filling it, rearranging it.

10. Being inside in the nice cosy warmth when it's raining/snowing/cold outside. I love the winter so long as I'm warm!

As in my last tag, I'm not going to tag anyone in particular as I think most people have been already so I tag everyone who wants to do it!!

Next post up is a small giveaway!

7 Things Tag (Haute Mess)

Hey!

I was tagged by the lovely Musicalhouses from Of Faces and Fingers. Thank you!

The rules are: I tell you 7 random facts about me, and I tag 7 other bloggers to do the same thing.

If you've been reading my blog for a while then you know I've done a couple of similar tags before so I am running out of facts and am definitely going to repeat myself!!

But here goes -

1. When I'm upset or feeling a bit low I get into water. Either the bath or the shower. I stay in there for hours sometimes. I don't know why, it just makes me feel better! I also find that sitting in the shower helps me when I have a migraine.

2. I love makeup almost as much as I love nail polish. The only reason I don't do many makeup posts is because I don't like close up pictures of my face! Also, despite my love for it, I don't actually wear makeup that often. I don't wear any on a day to day basis but I really go to town on nights out with it. I sometimes think I like getting ready to go out more than actually going out :)

3. I love to dance. I'm not saying I'm a good dancer but I sure do love to do it! I also love to watch other people dancing. Any programme to do with dancing and I'm there!

4. I'm a trekkie. Not as much as I was when I was younger but I still love everything Star Trek. I don't speak Klingon or anything like that though... I'm a moderate trekkie :)

5. When I was young I used to always refuse to eat dumplings because I thought they were actually ducklings! I've still never eaten them until this day because even though I know the truth now, I'm still suspicious...

6. Maz and I come from VERY different cultural and religious backgrounds. Our relationship works because we compromise a lot. When we get married there will be even more compromise and probably a lot of heated debates over certain things but it will all be worth it as we love each other :)

7. I love exams. I know most people will go 'WHAT' about that but I do. I always have and never get nervous about them...not that I've done any in a while! I am at my best under pressure so I always get my best results that way!

So they are my 7 random facts :)

I'm just going to tag anyone who wants to do this as I am so behind in doing this I have no idea who's been tagged already!

Stay tuned for another tag and a small giveaway later today!

Hard Candy's Mr Wrong and China Glaze's Blue Sparrow.

Hello!

How is everyone? Good I hope despite it being the worst month of the year! Well I think it is anyway.

My car's in for it's MOT today and just found out it needs something really expensive doing (something to do with a CV joint?!).....sigh, when it rains it pours!

Nevermind... things could be far worse.

It's still freezing here. -6 at this precise moment in time. It's stopped snowing but everything's icing over. I wish I had ice skates because our road's resembling an ice rink at the moment!

I still haven't caught up with reading all the blog posts I missed when I was away. There are too many! Also I've been reading them in Google Reader which means I haven't been commenting. It's just easier to read loads that way but once I've caught up I'll go back to my dashboard and commenting! I know I love getting comments so I feel bad that I don't always keep up with commenting on other people's blogs.

Anyway to the nail polish!

Today I have 2 to show you from the package I got from the lovely Beauty Judy!

First off Hard Candy's Mr Wrong. I know you've all probably seen this many a time by now but I love it so much I just had to put it on here :)

Don't forget you can click on the pictures to get a better view!

I absolutely love this polish! I think it might become a firm favourite.

Secondly here is China Glaze's Blue Sparrow, the only reason there aren't more pictures is because my camera battery ran out!

Another lovely polish! I WANT ALL THE CHINA GLAZES!!

My nail's aren't that long anymore. I've cut them all completely down again. Hopefully this time will be the last as I've finally got rid of all of the yellow stains! So from now on, once they're long again, I will keep them that way!

Hope everyone's having a great week!
