OPI Teal The Cows Come Home Konadicure

Hi!

This is another quickie post.

I finally took my last konadicure off (the ruby pumps one as seen 2 posts ago) after wearing it for a week. I loved it so much I wanted to wear it forever!! I got so many comments on it, my favourites being the sales girls on the Illamasqua counter in Selfridges in the Trafford Centre. They were oooohhhing and ahhhing for ages! Made me smile a lot!

Anyway as I said, I finally took it off and replaced it with a konadicure using OPI's Teal The Cows Come Home.

Here's how it turned out -

I used the OPI as a base with konad special black polish and image plate M64.

You can probably see the chip on my middle finger that I got during an argument with my car door!!

This is another one that I loved how it turned out. I am getting more and more addicted to konad!

I know I said my next post would be about my storage but I just haven't had a chance to do all the pics yet. Maybe next time!

Hope everyone had a good weekend!

Happy Birthday to Lucy and a tag :)

The gorgeous Christy from The Kronicles of a Konad-er tagged me for this great award! Thank you Christy :)

The rules are that I have to post a song that makes me a smile and then award the blogs that make me smile and tell you why.

I am a bit behind in this tag so goodness knows who I'm going to tag that hasn't already done it!

I thought way too much about which song to pick. If I had my way I'd show you about 10! In the end I have gone for a real cheesy one because, without fail, whenever I hear it I smile and feel happy!

I don't even understand what they're singing about but it doesn't matter!

I tag -

Joyce from Marble Nails - I just love her blog and love to see all the experiments she does with nail art. Her posts are always really cute and funny.

Sophie from Me Love Makeup - Sophie is a fellow UK blogger and I love to read her reviews on everything. Her blog always looks fab and she's just a lovely, lovely person!

Jen from Awesomevegan's Adventures - I love reading Jen's posts. She's always really friendly and also chats to me on twitter. Also I love to read her vegan recipes (I'm not vegan but I'm all about the food, any food!).

I'm going to stick at 3. I always say this, but there are loads more I would happily tag, unfortunately there are only so many hours in the day and a lot of people that I would have tagged have already been tagged.

Also, like a couple of other people I've seen have done, I want to mention the lovely Lucy too. If she had a blog I would tag her a million times over. Lucy always leaves really lovely comments and does it for everyone, not just me. Her comments always show that she's really read the post properly and has taken the time to remember things about me which I think is an amazing thing. So thank you Lucy for making me smile! Oh and I've just read that it's your birthday today so a big ♪ ♫ ♬ HAPPY BIRTHDAY ♪ ♫ ♬ from me and I hope you have a fantastic day!

Ruby Pumps Konadicure

Hey,

This is a very quick post to show you what I wore on my nails for a party at a friend's house on Saturday!

I used 2 coats of China Glaze's Ruby Pumps with konad special black polish and konad plate M65.

I really liked how it turned out and I got lots of comments on it!

I actually started out trying to use the musical notes from plate M73 but lets just say I need a bit more practise with that one.....! :)

As I said, just a quick post but I think the next post will be about my storage and that will be a very long one I suspect!

Hope you all had fab weekends!

I'm still alive!

Hi,

Just a quick post to say sorry for my terrible lack of posts lately! We are all moved in to the new place and so far absolutely loving it!

Since moving I haven't been online much (not necessarily a bad thing!) and am completely out of the loop blog and twitter wise. Everything is unpacked but I've moved it all around about a million times and then once I get the furniture right I decide I have to reorganise all the stuff stored in the furniture!! It's taking a while :)

The cats love it here and spend most of their time chasing each other up and down the stairs and generally making a lot of noise. They were, of course, a lot of help with the packing and unpacking......*coughs* and I didn't want to throttle them at all ;)

So as you can guess I haven't put any nail polish on for a while! My nails are completely wrecked from the moving and cleaning and they need LOTS of tlc. I'm going to try the warmed up olive oil that Lucy suggested to me.

I have lots of polishes to show you though and a very small giveaway coming up. Also I think I will do a post about my storage as I always love to see everyone else's!

So, sorry again for my neglectful ways. Normal service will be resumed shortly!

In the meantime, here are some pictures of Bobo and Barnaby taken over the course of the move.

Watching Maz load things into van.

Barnaby making sure we don't forget him.

Bobo checking that we haven't left anything in the drawers. (She'd actually just spotted Barnaby about to pounce on her, just after this photo there was a big scuffle in a very small space!)

Barnaby making sure the boxes are ok and safe to use.

Bobo discovering a good hiding place in the new place.

Both tired after a hard days packing.

It's a hard life for pussy cats.

OPI Reflecting Pool

Hello!

I am taking time out from the very boring packing to show you what's currently on my nails.

I bought this a few weeks ago on a trip to Sally's for something completely different. It was a very spur of the moment buy as I'd made it to the counter with just what I had planned but then, there it was. Staring at me. Saying 'buy me, buy me' in a very high pitched voice. I couldn't resist. I was helpless in it's gaze. So even though OPI is more money than I normally spend on nail polish it somehow made itself into my hand :) It cost £9 ($14), I don't know how that compares to other places?

Anyway here it is - OPI's Reflecting Pool -

You really need to click on these pictures to get the full effect of this polish!

It's a really lovely bluey/green with speckles of gold through it. You can see the gold in the enlarged pictures. I think this colour would look good matte... still pondering on whether to get a matte topcoat or not!

I think, although I'm not 100%, that this is a UK exclusive. I'm so glad I got it as I la la love it! I may have to get some of the others in the series...

If you saw my fingernails now though, you would cringe. I have been packing and cleaning all day and they are really looking the worse for it. *Sigh*. I will have to give them some tlc when we're settled. I think they will have to be cut down again.

That's it for today. Just going to say it one more time - enlarge the pics so you can see the gold!! :)

7 Things Tag and a contest from The Hungry Asian!

Hi,

First off, Heather from Lambchop Mobile tagged me for the 7 things tag going around at the moment. I'd been hoping to be tagged so thanks Heather :)

The colour that the Mighty Lambchop chose for me is orange. ORANGE! That is quite possibly the most difficult one she could have chosen for me as I don't really have a lot of it! I thought I wouldn't be able to find anything but I managed to find a few bits and pieces in the end.

So here it is -

1 - Harlan Coben's Back For Good. This is the first Harlan Coben I ever read and still probably my favourite.

2 - All the orange pens that I own. Stationary is another of my addictions, but I didn't think I had any orange pens... shows how much I know!

3 - The only item of clothing I own with any orange in it! I do quite like this top though and it's one of Maz's favourites on me.

4 - The Body Shop's Mango Body Butter. This stuff is great and smells divine!

5 - The only 2 orange nail polishes that I own - Sinful Color's Serena and Chloe and Collection 2000's Hip Hop.

6 - Turmeric - I love to cook and use this a lot in curries etc.

7 - This was a dodgy one as I'm not sure you can really call it orange but... it's the best I could do! It's a giant paw bed that was originally Bobo's but now Barnaby sleeps on it most of the time. They both love to pad on it.

I think nearly everyone's been tagged by now but I will try to tag people that I haven't seen a tag for yet...

awesomevegan (I'm sorry, I don't know your name!)

If you've already been tagged or already done it and I've somehow missed it then please ignore me :)

The colour I choose is..... BLUE!

Secondly, Kae, from The Hungry Asian is have her 1st giveaway and it's a fantastic one! The prizes are a bottle of MAC Baby Goth Girl, Hard Candy's Mr Wong and China Glaze's Fortune Teller. I want all 3 of these so much! I wonder if she'll notice if I enter under every name I can think of.... ;)

To enter go here!

Diamond Cosmetics - Matte Mulberry

Hey!

How is everyone? Good I hope!

First off I want to say a big THANK YOU to Sophie from melovemakeup for my new banner. She's done me 3 so I'm sorted for a bit now!

I am busy getting ready for the big move so my posting will be a bit sporadic over the next week or so!

Today I wanted to show you my first matte. The lovely Jen from Flashy Nails sent me some Diamond Cosmetic polish to try and this was one of them.

It's called Matte Mulberry (337) and as I said, it's my first matte!

Be prepared for the length of my nails. I cut them down as short as possible a couple of weeks ago!

I have to admit that I hadn't really taken much interest in any mattes and I wasn't expecting to like this that much BUT I love it! It really grew on me and I just love the different look it gives.

Isn't it a lovely colour?

It went on really well. 2 coats and dried super fast.

I think after a day or so I may be tempted to konad it though :)

Jen is now selling Diamond Cosmetics in the UK so take a look at her online shop here. I'm so happy to have somewhere to get them without having to pay stupid amounts for postage etc!

That's it for today. As I mentioned earlier I am moving early next week so I am not going to be posting much until we're all moved in. I will try to keep up with everyone's blogs and even though I don't always have time to comment, know that I read them all!

If you follow my blog and write one yourself that I'm not following then give me a nudge as I try to follow everyone :)
